Our course development process

Building a great course is a collaborative journey. Here is exactly how we take your idea from concept to a thriving learning experience — with transparency at every stage.

Six steps to a successful course

We have refined our process over dozens of projects to balance creativity with efficiency. Each phase has clear deliverables and approval checkpoints so you always stay in control.

1

Discovery and strategy

Every project begins with a complimentary discovery call. During this 60-minute session, we explore your subject matter, target audience, business objectives, and competitive landscape. We ask detailed questions about the transformation you want your learners to experience by the end of the course. After the call, we deliver a written strategy brief that includes a recommended course format, platform suggestion, preliminary module outline, and a high-level budget estimate. This document becomes the foundation for everything that follows and ensures alignment between your vision and our execution plan.

2

Curriculum architecture

With the strategy brief approved, our instructional designers build a comprehensive curriculum map. This detailed document breaks the course into modules, lessons, and learning objectives. We define the knowledge checks, assignments, and interactive elements that will appear in each lesson. We also create a content inventory — cataloguing any existing materials you have (slide decks, articles, recordings) that can be repurposed. The curriculum map goes through a collaborative review with you, and we iterate until every element reflects your expertise and pedagogical goals. Expect one to two rounds of revisions at this stage.

3

Content creation and scripting

Once the curriculum is locked, our writers and subject-matter specialists draft lesson scripts, presentation outlines, and downloadable resource templates. Each script is written in a conversational, learner-friendly tone that keeps engagement high. We include on-screen text cues, visual direction notes, and quiz question banks. If your course includes workbooks, checklists, or PDF guides, those are designed and typeset during this phase as well. You review every script before we move into production, giving you full editorial control over the voice and accuracy of the content.

4

Production and multimedia

This is where the course comes to life. Our video team handles filming — either on location at your site or in our Montréal studio — with professional lighting, audio, and teleprompter support. For clients who prefer a camera-free approach, we create animated explainer videos, screen-recorded tutorials, or voice-over slide presentations. Post-production includes colour grading, audio mastering, motion graphics, lower-third titles, and chapter markers. Interactive elements such as drag-and-drop exercises, branching scenarios, and timed quizzes are developed by our eLearning engineers using industry-standard authoring tools.

5

Platform setup and launch

With all assets finalized, we upload and configure your course on the chosen learning platform. This includes setting up module sequencing, drip schedules, pricing tiers, coupon codes, completion certificates, and email automations. We build or optimize your sales landing page with persuasive copy, social proof, and a clear call to action. Before launch, we conduct a thorough quality-assurance pass — testing every video, link, quiz, and payment flow across desktop and mobile devices. We then coordinate a launch window with you, ensuring your email list, social channels, and any advertising campaigns are aligned for maximum impact.

6

Growth and optimization

Launching is just the beginning. In the weeks following your course debut, we monitor key metrics — enrollment rates, lesson completion percentages, quiz scores, and student feedback. We compile these insights into an actionable analytics report and recommend data-driven improvements. This might include re-ordering modules for better flow, adding supplementary lessons to address common questions, or tweaking your sales page headline for higher conversions. Clients on our Growth or Premium support plans receive these reviews on a recurring monthly or quarterly basis, ensuring the course continues to evolve and deliver results over time.

What makes our approach different

Professional course video production in our studio

Learner-first instructional design

Many course creators focus on what they want to teach. We start with what the learner needs to achieve. Using backward design methodology, we define the desired outcomes first and then engineer every lesson, activity, and assessment to move the learner toward those outcomes. This approach consistently produces higher engagement, better retention, and stronger word-of-mouth referrals for our clients.

Transparent collaboration

You are never left wondering what is happening with your project. We use a shared project dashboard where you can see real-time progress, review deliverables, leave comments, and approve milestones. Every two weeks we hold a brief check-in call to discuss progress, address questions, and plan the next sprint. This level of visibility means fewer surprises and a final product that truly reflects your vision.
